Evangelise the ethnic Chinese in Europe with a higher priority for the significant groups that are least reached by existing churches and para-church organizations. Encourage new cross-cultural evangelism models to reach people speaking local languages.
Priority target groups:
Mainland Chinese students
The large number of Chinese students in the UK and Europe can be key leaders in future churches in the UK, Europe, China and the world. That’s why we need to send student workers to key university campuses and places with a concentration of Chinese students and partner with Chinese, English, and local churches, as well as other Christian organizations to reach out to these students.
New immigrants in Continental Europe and UK
The future Chinese immigrants to Europe will be mostly Mandarin speaking. There are many areas that do not have Mandarin speaking Chinese Christian churches/fellowships. COCM, with it’s headquarter in England, is close to Continental Europe with easy access for support. We will partner with like-minded local churches to develop effective models to minister to this people group. It is our desire to establish new churches/fellowships through pioneering evangelism in places where sizable new immigrants are least reached by other para-church organizations.
Local language speaking ethnic Chinese
Many children of settled ethnic Chinese are now growing up in Europe. They can be future leaders of local communities as well as potential missionaries to reach the Europeans. There is a severe lack of resources to help this group in both evangelism and discipleship. At the same time we need youth leaders to serve this generation and empower them to use the gifts that God has given them.
Support developing and established churches with training programmes through COCM Training Ministry. Recruit and train potential missionaries and pastoral workers through a practical ministry training programme.
Priority target groups:
Leaders from established and existing churches and fellowships
Strengthen COCM Training Ministry and make the COCM mission centre a key training base. Develop a more systematic training programme to serve the needs of Chinese churches. Emphasis on discipleship training and Bible teaching to equip church leaders.
Potential COCM Recruits and Pastoral workers in the mission field
If we want to gather a big enough missionary force, we need to train a significant number of missionaries right here in Europe and to develop a high quality, practical training track for potential COCM missionaries and new staff . This involves training Christian workers in pioneering evangelism as well as training pastors for existing Chinese Churches in Europe.
Utilise the COCM mission centre as a key base for evangelism, prayer support, training, church consultation and mission mobilisation with Gospel camps, Bible camps, literature support, Short Term Mission and volunteer service.
Develop communication mechanism to effectively share our vision, mission and strategies. Build a communication team to produce resources and materials for mission mobilization including regular and on demand publication in printed or multi-media form. Build a strong prayer support network inside and outside of COCM for our ministries and missionaries. Encourage staff workers to participate in vision sharing and mobilization, to make ongoing effort to strengthen and expand their support base.
Build partnerships with like-minded churches and para-church organisations via innovative programmes. Send out missionaries, provide and share resources, provide financial and prayer support, be a good support for front line mission.
